Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

It’s that time of year again – time for eating crisp fall apples, hearty root vegetables, and all varieties of winter squash. Chief among the latter is the pumpkin which you will now find in every fall recipe from pie to pancakes to lattes.

And while you can simply scrounge together a few of your favorite warm spices – cinnamon, cloves, and ginger to be exact – you might consider making this pumpkin pie spice to have on hand for quick baking endeavors.

The truth about pumpkin pie spice is that it could really be any combination of your favorite spices from cinnamon to allspice to ginger to nutmeg. But I like to keep it simple with just these three. I think I will be pulling this spice mix out all winter long to sprinkle into baked goods and maybe even into my morning coffee.
